Mariia Khas

A Buryad-Mongol silversmith and the founder of SHUWUU.

Mariia came to metal after working with wood, clay and fabric, drawn to a material that could endure. What began as a personal practice grew into a way of giving form to feelings she found difficult to put into words.

She later studied traditional chasing in Mongolia. Her work brings this training together with her own experiments, the Buddhist and shamanic traditions she grew up around, and experiences from her life.
